Hypixel is a free-to-play Minecraft server that features a wide arrange of exciting minigames you may have heard of, such as Skyblock, Bedwars, Murder Mystery, and many more. Hypixel is the largest Minecraft Server Network and the best one as it offers a lot of opportunities to have fun and meet different players from all around the world.
This Minecraft server was created in April of 2013 and started as a YouTube channel that featured Minecraft’s adventure maps. It eventually grew in popularity and support to the point where it is now and currently supports 20 varied minigames to choose from.
Hypixel also allows you to customize your character; it features a level system and pins you with other players to chat and befriend.
How To Join Hypixel?
In order to play in one of the many minigames that Hypixel has to offer, you need to own a copy of Minecraft. You can’t join Hypixel without it, so make sure to have purchased the game and log in on either a Microsoft or Mojang account.
Joining the server is pretty straightforward. Boot up the game, go to Multiplayer and click on “Add Server.” It’ll show you a Server Address bar, then type the following address: “mc.hypixel.net,” and click “Done.”
Once inside the server, you will join a lobby where you’ll be able to pick from all the many different minigames. Every game has an NPC with the game’s name above it and the number of players currently playing.
The bad news is that the Hypixel server will only work on the Pc or Mac versions of the game. The Pocket Edition and console versions of Minecraft won’t support it.
What Minigames Are On Hypixel?
- Bed Wars: In this minigame, you spawn with up to four teammates on a set of islands to gather resources to buy and upgrade items. The objective is simple: Destroy your opponents’ beds and defend your own. If your bed is destroyed, you can no longer respawn, so eliminate the other team and ensure your survival!
- SkyWars: This is Hypixel’s take on the game mode in which each player or team spawns on an island and is set to be the last ones standing. Use your weapons and wit to knock enemies off. Kill your opponents to earn a soul and improve.
- Murder Mystery: Get into the role of either an Innocent, Detective, or Murderer in this exciting and often unpredictable game of cat and mouse. Here, the innocents and detectives try to figure out who the murderer is before he kills them all.
- Arcade Games: This lobby is more varied than the rest as it offers several different activities in one. There’s a zombie horde survival mode and team fights with beam swords and a lot more. Definitely hard to get bored with this one.
- UHC Champions: It’s divided into Solo and Team modes with up to three players per team. The interesting part is you can only heal with golden apples, potions, and of course, the heads of your dead enemies for all the sadistic people out there. It offers custom crafting recipes and different perks that will help you survive your ordeal in this relentless mode.
- Arena Brawl: This game pins you against your opponents with only a sword and a special skill to survive. You can play one-on-one, 2v2, and even an all-out brawl of 4v4 players.
- Build Battle: Here, you’ll be pinned against other players to create the best build based on a specific theme. Your time is limited as the voting starts, and you have to make sure to get more points than the rest of the players, so get creative! If that wasn’t enough, there’s a mode called Guess the Build where you’ll have to guess what other players are building.
- Cops and Crims: This game mode borrows heavily from Counter-Strike: Global Offensive by arming two teams with guns, pistols, and grenades. Here, you’ll use team tactics and your skill to either defend the bomb sites or infiltrate and plant a bomb.
- Duels: This competitive server offers several modes, allowing you to select your setup and battle one or more opponents. Try your best to reach the top of the leaderboards.
- Mega Walls: This game mode takes Minecraft to the extreme by putting four teams of 25 players or two teams of 20 players against each other. In the first few minutes, you’ll be gathering resources and building your defenses. Once the walls are down, you’ll have to either attack your enemies’ Wither or defend your own Wither. Once the team’s Wither is dead, players will no longer respawn, turning it into a battle of life or death where only one team will remain standing.
- Paintball Warfare: This game mode divides players into two teams of different colors, each with a set number of lives. The first team to reduce the other team’s lives to zero wins the game. There are multiple perks and power-ups to keep the game interesting throughout the match.
- Quakecraft: This is a fast-paced deathmatch in which you’ll use your Railgun and blasts to kill your enemies. You’re also able to customize your gear, such as armors, hats, railguns, and even the fireworks you shoot.
- Blitz Survival Games: A survival game like no other, with many different maps with between 16 and 32 players per round. This challenge has both Solo or Team modes for you to take a kit and fight your way to glory. This is one of the most exciting minigames available in Hypixel.
- Smash Heroes: Choose one of several unique heroes with different abilities to fight in Solo or Team battles. This game mode tasks you to smash your opponents without mercy as you try to become the ultimate hero.
- The TNT Games: Those who’ve played Minecraft with friends know how fun it can be to use TNT on each other. This mode makes good use of TNT with various games involving it. From TNT Tag that serves as a Minecraft version of Hot Potato to TNT Run to test your parkour skills under pressure and even shooting your friends down in Bow Spleef.
- Turbo Kart Racers: This minigame promises to pump you with adrenaline with a fully-fledged racing game with eleven other players. Just like many other arcade racing games, there are boxes sprinkled throughout the tracks that will give you certain abilities. Not only that, but the game allows you to customize your kart to your heart’s content.
- VampireZ: This Hypixel game turns you into either a survivor or a vampire. As a vampire, your mission is to convert the rest of the group into vampires while they struggle to survive with the blindness effect. This chilling experience is bound to make some good memories for the night.
- The Walls: You have 15 minutes to prepare and collect resources to build your defenses, as well as craft your weapons and armors. This PvP experience is thrilling and the epitome of Minecraft battles. The eleven maps offered to you are each unique and promise a different experience every time you play them.
- Warlords: This minigame has three modes: Capture the Flag, Domination, and Team Deathmatch. Warlords has its own 3D textured weapons, sounds, and a lot more. This is definitely one of the most round experiences in multiplayer Minecraft and one you won’t want to miss.
